FREE Cataract Surgeries Eye Camp

Muslims of Long Island, in collaboration with CoPilot Cares, Waris Foundation, and NAM Helping Hands, proudly organized a charitable cataract camp in Sharaqpur, Pakistan. This initiative was designed to provide essential medical care to those in need, offering the gift of sight to individuals who have been living with visual impairment for years.

The camp, which was held for three days at a local school, was made possible through the dedication of Dr. Khalid, a renowned surgeon who has dedicated his life to performing cataract surgeries for underserved communities. Over the course of the camp, hundreds of individuals were screened for eligibility, with 116 fortunate patients receiving life-changing cataract surgeries. Many of the recipients shared that they had been unable to see clearly for months, and in some cases, even as long as six years.

This remarkable achievement was made possible by the unwavering support of the local community and our generous partners. Thanks to the collective efforts of everyone involved, we were able to restore the gift of sight to 116 individuals, allowing them to regain their independence and improve their quality of life.

We humbly ask for your continued support in future endeavors like this, as we strive to bring essential medical care to communities in need. Together, we can make a lasting impact and transform lives, one patient at a time.
