From February 13th to February 23rd, a group led by Ammad Sheikh from Muslims of Long Island, along with Dr. Moby Kazmi of Copilot Cares, Dr. Ali Noor, Dr. Isma Chaudhry from the Waris Foundation, will travel to Pakistan for a special mission. Their goal is to help people in need and improve lives through different projects.

Bringing Back Sight: Cataract Surgeries in Sharakpur and Faisalabad
One important part of this mission is to help 300 people who have cataracts, which makes it hard or impossible to see. The team will perform 150 surgeries in Sharakpur and another 150 in Faisalabad. These surgeries will allow many people to see clearly again, helping them live more independently and reconnect with their families and communities. This effort shows how important it is to make medical care available to everyone. These surgeries will be conducted by local Pakistani physicians and these eye camps will be temporarily set up in these areas to facilitate surgeries.

Helping Accident Survivors: Visiting Chiniot for Prosthetic Limbs

The team will also visit Chiniot, where they have paid for prosthetic limbs for people who lost their arms or legs in accidents. These artificial limbs will help the survivors move around again and rebuild their lives. Meeting these individuals in person will highlight how much of a difference this kind of support can make.

Providing Clean Water: Building Over 30 Water Pumps

Access to clean water is still a big challenge in many areas of Pakistan. To help, the group will oversee the construction of more than 30 water pumps in places that need them the most. These pumps will give people clean water to drink, reducing illnesses caused by dirty water and making life easier for families, especially women and children who often have to walk long distances to fetch water. Each water pump costs between $75 t0 $120 depending on the location.

Visiting Orphanages and a Nursing Home

The mission also includes visits to a girls’ orphanage, a boys’ orphanage, and a nursing home. Muslims of Long Island have been supporting these places for a long time, and this visit will allow the team to check on the needs of the children and elderly residents. Spending time with them will also bring joy and show that they are cared for and valued.

Working Together to Make a Difference

This mission is a great example of how people working together can create real change. Muslims of Long Island, Co-Pilot Cares, Waris Foundation, doctors, and local groups in Pakistan are joining forces to tackle important issues and improve lives.

We hope you follow and support this journey of compassion and care. It’s proof that when people come together to help, they can make the world a better place, one step at a time.
