Water Pump Project

Muslims of Long Island's Mission to restore vision.

Muslims of Long Island, a New York-based 501c3 organization, has made a significant difference in the developing world through its water pump initiative. By providing essential access to clean water, the organization addresses a fundamental need and creates a ripple effect of positive change.

The availability of clean water has far-reaching implications for communities. It prevents the spread of waterborne diseases, improves public health, and reduces mortality rates. Additionally, access to clean water empowers women and children, freeing them from the arduous task of collecting water from unsafe sources. This not only saves time but also reduces the risk of sexual assault, as women and children no longer need to travel long distances to fetch water.

Moreover, clean water is a catalyst for economic development and community growth. When communities have access to clean water, they can engage in agriculture, improve sanitation, and establish sustainable livelihoods. This, in turn, leads to increased educational opportunities, improved healthcare, and overall prosperity.

Through the generosity and support of the community, the Muslims of Long Island have achieved a remarkable milestone: the construction of 600+ water pumps in the developing world. This achievement represents a testament to the organization’s dedication and its positive impact on countless lives.

Water Pump Project

Our mission centers on the core values of Community, Charity, and Compassion. At the height of the pandemic, we focused on ensuring that our neighbors had access to essential resources, including food and basic necessities. Through these efforts, the Muslims of Long Island became a trusted support network for families and individuals grappling with the health and economic effects of the pandemic.
